There goes the neighborhood captures the visual experience of one year of gentrification in Portland, Oregon as old homes are leveled to make way for newcomers with money. The film is a time capsule of Portland in the 2010s, showing what is was, and what is was in the process of becoming.

Dan Evans is the principal filmmaker of Storywise, a Portland-based production company with a global reach. He has been a trusted partner on multiple films, series, and digital media for National Geographic and PBS. Dan has shot and produced films on five continents and 11 countries, including remote and difficult locations such as Afghanistan and Libya. He served as director of photography on the documentary feature Shattered Sky, which was broadcast nationally on public television. As an editor and story producer, Dan helped create the public television film Shark Island Whaler: The real-life sequel to Moby-Dick, which won “Best of Oregon” at the Oregon Film Awards. Dan’s films have been recognized with multiple awards and have screened at a dozen film festivals worldwide. He is a native of the Pacific Northwest.
